All Aged Stakes Preview

March 8th, 2010

As the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival is well underway, the Sydney Cup Day is taking place on the 24th of April, and will finish off the fantastic display of racing in the NSW Capital.

While the Sydney Cup will headline the day’s events at the Royal Randwick Racecourse, the Group 1 All Aged Stakes (1400m), will be another highlight and will be offering $300,000.

The race draws in top horses three-years-old and over to compete under weight for age conditions over 1,400 metres.

Denman is a possible contender for the 2010 All Aged Stakes on the 24th of April. The Peter Snowden-trained colt has won his last three starts, most recent of which was the Group 2 D’Urban Stakes (1400m) in February, making him a strong favourite if he was to start.

There has also been mention of Typhoon Tracy starting at the All Aged Stakes. If the mare did start she would certainly be another favourite after winning the Group 1 Futurity Stakes (1600m), which makes up just one of her recent string of wins.

Also taking place on the 24th of April at the Royal Randwick Racecourse, will be the Group 1 Sydney Cup (3200m), Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m), Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) and the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1600m).
