Star-studded 2013 All Aged Stakes Field Announced

April 24th, 2013

There’s only eight horses in the field for the Group 1 2013 All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick this Saturday but the shortage of quantity is made up for with quality.

Heading the classy group is three-year-old colt All Too Hard who is starting for the first time since claiming consecutive Group 1 wins in February.

It will be All Too Hard’s final start on Australian soil before a trip to Royal Ascot and retirement but he will have to be at his best in order to go out a winner.

Out to knock off the colt will be More Joyous who is Sydney’s turf darling. The Gai Waterhouse-trained mare is a winner of 21 of 32 starts and has collected more than $4.5 million in prizemoney.

Also in with a big a chance is the race’s other colt, Epaulette. The Darley-owned galloper won the Golden Rose during the spring and resumed this autumn with a runner-up finish behind Black Caviar in the TJ Smith.

Others competing as part of the cracking line up are veteran gelding Rangirangdoo, Melbourne Cup runner-up Fiorente and speedy front-runner Rain Affair.
