Claiming the major Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes (1000m) first-up on February 15th, Snitzerland will be aiming to complete her strongest preparation to date this weekend, having been nominated for the All Aged Stakes.

Amassing an impressive total of eight wins and five places from only nineteen competitive race starts to date, Snitzerland was arguably the most talented horse yet to claim a Group 1 title prior to her current preparation.

Since breaking through for that maiden milestone this season, the Snitzel mare has continued in competitive form; finishing an unlucky second behind Villa Verde in the Group 2 Challenge Stakes (1000m) on March 15th before being hampered for a run on the soft, rain affected Randwick surface when 12th in the Group 1 T.J. Smith Stakes (1200m) last time out on April 12th.

Likely to return to the spelling paddock following this weekend’s All Aged Stakes, trainer Gerald Ryan is confident of Snitzerland adding another major title to the bank this weekend.

Also included in nominations for the 2014 All Aged Stakes is Group 1 The Galaxy (1100m) champion Tiger Tees.

Securing eleven victories and four places from 25 race starts so far, Tiger Tees has arguably returned to the track in career best form this time in, claiming the Listed Falvelon (1200m) first-up before being checked in the Challenge Stakes prior to his maiden Group 1 triumph in The Galaxy on March 29th.

Finishing a competitive fourth in the T.J. Smith Stakes last time out, trainer Joseph Pride has outlined a possible trip to Queensland for the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival for the Dubawi gelding this time in, and is confident of another strong showing this weekend.

Pride is poised to be offered twice the chance of success in the 2014 All Aged Stakes, having also nominated Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) champion Steps In Time for this weekend’s Randwick feature race.

A particularly strong performer over autumn events, Steps In Time has returned to the track in typically impressive form this season, finishing an unlucky second to Catkins in the Group 2 Breeders Classic (1200m) first-up before breaking through for her maiden Group 1 title in the Coolmore Classic on March 22nd.

While unable to handle the heavy going when 13th in the T.J. Smith last time out, Pride is optimistic an improvement in track conditions ahead of the All Aged Stakes will see a return to the winner’s circle for the Danehill Dancer mare.

While unable to break through for another Group 1 title this season, champion mare Red Tracer will be aiming to secure another major title in the All Aged Stakes before returning to the spelling paddock ahead of what will likely be a busy Spring Racing Carnival.

Comfortably claiming the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m) first-up on March 1st, the Dane Shadow mare overcoming an early check to finish a fighting third in the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) before being unable to handle the soaking track and tenth in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) on March 29th.

Returning to strong form when claiming third in the major Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) on day 2 of The Championships at Royal Randwick last weekend, trainer Chris Waller is expecting another polished performance from Red Tracer this weekend.

A final field and barrier draw for the 2014 All Aged Stakes is due to be released on Wednesday morning.
